Catching Up

HOWDY ! Been a few months. Scott had knee surgery on his Right knee back in June. Healing part of it didn't go as well as the last knee but they did do a little more to this one. He just went back to full sea duty last Tuesday! YIPPY!! I'm happy he's back at sea and he's happy he can finally do some work. We did enjoy our time together though. Took a short trip over to Juneau to stock up on bulk items I got to be the driver. FUN FUN going 55 MPH all the time. I'm so not used to that!
Still waiting to hear where we will be moving 2011. I have my heart set on Kodiak but I need to get over that. This could be the one time in his career where it doesn't work out for us. Sometimes advancing doesn't have it's advantages lol.

I have been busy doing a lot of knitting. SO MANY BABIES !
I'm going to study (self study) drawing what I see and taking my hand at painting. I have so much of my momma in me when it comes to art.
Have made lots of new friends with all the new families moving here this summer. I must say I'm truly blessed with a great bunch of friends.
Emma had some allergy testing done ($$) and she is allergic to
EVERYTHING! we started giving her allergy shots every 3 days for a month them every 4 days and now we are on every 7 until we get to once a month. It seems to be helping. She has a break out a few days after the shot then it clears up. Her eating has gotten better and she plays with Rowdy much more.
ROWDY oh BOY lol. He's the same ole spoiled rotten stinker.
FALL IS HERE and I think I'm ready for it. I have a feeling though we are going to have a crazy snowy winter. We will see.

OH before Scott went back to work Doc ORDERED him(she wanted to see how his knee would react) to get in a boat and go fishing! we are set for winter woo hoo here are a few pics.

For some reason I don't have the Halibut and Cod pics but he got some of that too !
TA TA I'll try to update more lol

So Proud of my Mooneyman !

We got word a week ago that Scott will be making CWO2. For those who don't know what the heck that is lol. He's promoting to Warrant Officer on June 1 2011. Not only that but he is NUMBER 1 on the advancement list. This is a huge step in his career. The sad part of it is we no longer get to give our choices of where he would like to go. They pretty much call him and say your going to *******. Oh well we can do it !
Only 9 more years of moving around. That's about 2 to 3 more jobs. Then retirement and buying our very first home. So much to look forward to.
I'm just so proud of him. Always have been. I make sure I tell him that at least once a week lol.

Making a 3 day trip to Juneau next month. More so to stock up on things from Costco ( like a sams club) but I"d like to try to make time to go to the glacier while we are there.

Not much else going on. Saying goodbye to lots of great people who reached their time to transfer out. One family I'll miss greatly but I have hopes that we will be sent back to Kodiak Alaska when we move next year to meet up with them again.

HAVE A GREAT MONTH YALL !

Home again home again giga de gig

HAWAII was unbelievable ! I can't wait to go back! Although it was hot (80's) and a bit humid and bad on my hair lol I loved it ! I've never seen such blue waters. I am totally taken but the trees there. So many of them and they are all so beautiful! The Turtle Bay Resort was fantastic and the staff was simply wonderful. We pretty much stayed on the North Shore not venturing out to Honolulu or Waikiki. We had everything we needed or could want at the North Shore.
The fruit was amazing ! After being in Alaska for 8 years you forget what good fruit taste like.
Oh and Dole Plantation is a must for anyone who visit Hawaii. We both loved the pineapple ice cream. They really should market that stuff lol. And who knew there are like 7 or 8 different kinds of pineapple !
I got a slight tan on my chest and arms and Scott ended up with sun poisoning on his legs. Bet he uses sun screen next time when I say to lol.

So now we are back to the grind of things in Alaska and Scott back to sea. i sure am missing the sun!
Here are a few pictures.

Scott & I at the water fall Scott @ Pool Scott @ Turtle Beach

Our Room View Fun in the Sun

AND THE GREATEST VIDEO lol I saw this coming so I started recording. As the waves came in there was an air pocket in the center of the rock that blew..... WATCH

ALOHA !!!

15 Days to Hawaii ! I can't believe it's so close ! I'll try to post pics on Face Book and here while we are there. I will be taking LOTS of pictures !
Lets see since I last posted Scott has scheduled knee surgery on his other knee. He had surgery in his left one about 3 years ago now it's time for the right. Just a manicus tear. I don;t even think I spelled that right. Anywho the doc wanted to do it the week before we left for Hawaii said he'd be fine on the trip. YEA UM NO are you smokin' weed ! ? He would be so limited on the trails and hikes we want to do. So we decided on the end of June.

I have nothing going on. hahah OH WAIT my BFF in GA is pregnant with her first baby! I'm so super excited for her and josh they are going to make the best parents ever! And I will be an honorary Auntie !!!! YEAH ! I love to SPOIL ! just ask Amelia lol
She will tell you her rich Aunt lives in Alaska lol. Oh my I alsmost typed Hawaii! Could that be a sign?

Oh and more good news. Thanks to a special angel (my Dad) we are out of debt ! well except for my car but YEAH HOO RA!

Mom and Mick are redoing their kitchen can't wait to see the pics. Glad she chose a shade of green to. I love greens. Well pray for safe travels to and from Hawaii and pray I don't get sick ! I'm notorious for that. A little bird told me they serve Matias (did I spell that right) on the way there ! woo hooo

MUCH LOVE TO ALL

LOL I Amaze myself lol

So I was talking with a girl friend about events that have been going on in my life and I said to her "In the midst of so much sadness there is always much joy." How profound does that sound ! ? lol
So I got to explaining myself to another girl friend and thought I just needed to share with everyone examples of what I mean. So here goes.

At my Dad's sudden passing although we didn't really know who he was as a person and it hurt very much it brought the joy of my sister and I back in contact with that side of our family. And I learned not to let things go unsaid.

With Pop Pop's passing I got to speak to him just days before he went and was able to tell him I love him. And with his passing the
joy of knowing that although he's not with us he's gone to be with the Lord and those family members who passed before him.

Then there is this great unselfish couple who with great sadness carried their baby to term knowing he'd not live, but yet
gave great joy to 3 families with organ donation and they got to set a great example as Christians.

So there you have it.
"In the midst of so much sadness there is always much joy." Feel free to "quote" me on that.

I just made myself weepy..

LOVE YOU ALL

Going to Hawaii , Going to Hawaii !!

It's official !! Everything is booked ! We leave on May 7th to Honolulu Hawaii. We are staying out on the North Shore in Oahu at the Turtle Bay Resort http://www.turtlebayresort.com/ . Be sure to check that link out.
We have NEVER had a vacation like this. It's kind of an early 20 year anniversary get away lol although we are only on year 19 of marriage hahahaha.... OH but wait we have been together 20! I was shocked Scott even agreed to take me, he didn't even hesitate with his answer.

Any of you have any ideas to offer on things to or places to see let us know. I have a list of things already. It's a lot for only 6 days ! Now to work on my bikini body hahahaha YEA RIGHT NOT !

Scott is currently away for a few months. Yes I'm tired of having endless conversations with the dogs. They never seen to answer me back. Eating alone most nights isn't much fun either. Good thing I have some good friends who invite me out or have me over at least once a week.

It's the time of year where friends start moving away. The thought of losing some is very sad. It's got to be the hardest part of being apart of military life. But one good thing once you find true friends they stick with you forever. There are a few here like that and that I've had to say bye to in the past. You gotta love the military life and hate it all at the same time.

Well ta ta 4 now !

SNOW ! and we've been married 18 years !

I thought it would never come but just as I predicted it snowed this second week of November and it stuck. Then of course the rain came and took it all away lol. I've had my fill ,it can stay gone till next November. lol
Scott reached his 20 year mark with the Coast Guard today ! Woo hooo. I can't believe we've been together 20 years! I practically watched him grow up! Tomarrow the 14th is our 18 year wedding anniversay! I am so blessed to have found him ! I'd ask him how he feels but once again duty calls and has taken him away on our special day. But no worries we have plans for a nice dinner out when he gets home.

I've finally finished my crafts for the Christmas Bazzar on the 28th. I made Coffee cup sleeves and those cute braided barrettes we 80's gals made and wore.
I have 2 friends sharing the table with me. One makes handbags including the one's made form old ODU uniforms ! and Kim makes the cutiest hairclips. Here is a link to her ETSY site. http://www.etsy.com/shop/hairsprinkles
I also have some of Aunt Lori's things to sell she to has some super cute things! i've already sold some! here is her link. http://www.etsy.com/shop/ItsLorraine
Scott's done some duck hunting and some deer hunting and came home each time with meat for the freezer ! I must say we are truely blesse with a full to the brim freezer with fish and wild game. Wish you could hunt wild chickens then we woiuldn't have to buy that either lol

Thanksgiving and Christmas are just arund the corner. We have big plans for Christmas. Lots of cooking and friends houses. Sure makes being away from home a little eaiser. Wanna here something disturbing ?? I HAVE FINISHED CHRISTMAS SHOPPING ! hahahhahaha well except what i'm getting Scott.

Well that's about all I have to say now lol

FALL IS HERE !

BUURRRR Getting chilly outside and we have our first termination dust on some of the mountains. I miss seeing the changing of the trees in the Fall back home though.
Scott has been gone now for 3 weeks :( i'm missing him this trip. I guess cause i'm able to talk to him everyday and not actually see him . Just a few more weeks! I'm counting down the days. Haven't been up to much. Working on my sewing projects to sell at the Christmas Bazzars this year. I'm hoping to make some serious cash ! I need to earn money for all the things I want lol. So I'll be a busy bee until about December. Speaking of, I HAVE COMPLETED Christmas shopping except for Scott and a couple friends.

I've joined the local CG Spouses Association (again this yr) and my friend Jennifer put a book club together as one of the activities. This months reading is "Secret Life Of Bee's" I've read it but I am going to go for it again. If you haven't read the book DO SO ! It's 100 x's better than the movie.
We all had a progressive dinner last night (spouses association). In case your clueless on that one. It's where you have appitizers at one house main course at another house then dessert at another house. It was sooooooo much fun. I love all the new friends I've met. One good thing about moving all the time is you get to meet so many teriffic people from all walks of life and most remain life long friends.
One of my new friends has offered to help me with a scrap book of dad. I know we didn't really "KNOW" each other but things that have come up in conversation ....and he and I liked alot of the same things. So I think putting together this scrapbook will let me get to know the person he was outside of the person I pictured him to be. So on that note if any of you have pictures or stories you'd like to share please email them to me or send them snail mail so I can add them to my book.
I'm enjoying reconnecting with family members I have seen or spoken to in over 25 yrs.
Well that's enough rambling for one day lol. I'll be back next month !

PS. I'll share my craftyness right before the bazzar
