Going to Hawaii , Going to Hawaii !!

It's official !! Everything is booked ! We leave on May 7th to Honolulu Hawaii. We are staying out on the North Shore in Oahu at the Turtle Bay Resort http://www.turtlebayresort.com/ . Be sure to check that link out.
We have NEVER had a vacation like this. It's kind of an early 20 year anniversary get away lol although we are only on year 19 of marriage hahahaha.... OH but wait we have been together 20! I was shocked Scott even agreed to take me, he didn't even hesitate with his answer.

Any of you have any ideas to offer on things to or places to see let us know. I have a list of things already. It's a lot for only 6 days ! Now to work on my bikini body hahahaha YEA RIGHT NOT !

Scott is currently away for a few months. Yes I'm tired of having endless conversations with the dogs. They never seen to answer me back. Eating alone most nights isn't much fun either. Good thing I have some good friends who invite me out or have me over at least once a week.

It's the time of year where friends start moving away. The thought of losing some is very sad. It's got to be the hardest part of being apart of military life. But one good thing once you find true friends they stick with you forever. There are a few here like that and that I've had to say bye to in the past. You gotta love the military life and hate it all at the same time.

Well ta ta 4 now !

SNOW ! and we've been married 18 years !

I thought it would never come but just as I predicted it snowed this second week of November and it stuck. Then of course the rain came and took it all away lol. I've had my fill ,it can stay gone till next November. lol
Scott reached his 20 year mark with the Coast Guard today ! Woo hooo. I can't believe we've been together 20 years! I practically watched him grow up! Tomarrow the 14th is our 18 year wedding anniversay! I am so blessed to have found him ! I'd ask him how he feels but once again duty calls and has taken him away on our special day. But no worries we have plans for a nice dinner out when he gets home.

I've finally finished my crafts for the Christmas Bazzar on the 28th. I made Coffee cup sleeves and those cute braided barrettes we 80's gals made and wore.
I have 2 friends sharing the table with me. One makes handbags including the one's made form old ODU uniforms ! and Kim makes the cutiest hairclips. Here is a link to her ETSY site. http://www.etsy.com/shop/hairsprinkles
I also have some of Aunt Lori's things to sell she to has some super cute things! i've already sold some! here is her link. http://www.etsy.com/shop/ItsLorraine
Scott's done some duck hunting and some deer hunting and came home each time with meat for the freezer ! I must say we are truely blesse with a full to the brim freezer with fish and wild game. Wish you could hunt wild chickens then we woiuldn't have to buy that either lol

Thanksgiving and Christmas are just arund the corner. We have big plans for Christmas. Lots of cooking and friends houses. Sure makes being away from home a little eaiser. Wanna here something disturbing ?? I HAVE FINISHED CHRISTMAS SHOPPING ! hahahhahaha well except what i'm getting Scott.

FALL IS HERE !

BUURRRR Getting chilly outside and we have our first termination dust on some of the mountains. I miss seeing the changing of the trees in the Fall back home though.
Scott has been gone now for 3 weeks :( i'm missing him this trip. I guess cause i'm able to talk to him everyday and not actually see him . Just a few more weeks! I'm counting down the days. Haven't been up to much. Working on my sewing projects to sell at the Christmas Bazzars this year. I'm hoping to make some serious cash ! I need to earn money for all the things I want lol. So I'll be a busy bee until about December. Speaking of, I HAVE COMPLETED Christmas shopping except for Scott and a couple friends.

I've joined the local CG Spouses Association (again this yr) and my friend Jennifer put a book club together as one of the activities. This months reading is "Secret Life Of Bee's" I've read it but I am going to go for it again. If you haven't read the book DO SO ! It's 100 x's better than the movie.
We all had a progressive dinner last night (spouses association). In case your clueless on that one. It's where you have appitizers at one house main course at another house then dessert at another house. It was sooooooo much fun. I love all the new friends I've met. One good thing about moving all the time is you get to meet so many teriffic people from all walks of life and most remain life long friends.
One of my new friends has offered to help me with a scrap book of dad. I know we didn't really "KNOW" each other but things that have come up in conversation ....and he and I liked alot of the same things. So I think putting together this scrapbook will let me get to know the person he was outside of the person I pictured him to be. So on that note if any of you have pictures or stories you'd like to share please email them to me or send them snail mail so I can add them to my book.
I'm enjoying reconnecting with family members I have seen or spoken to in over 25 yrs.
Well that's enough rambling for one day lol. I'll be back next month !

PS. I'll share my craftyness right before the bazzar

SAD DAY

Tomorrow our family will lay my Dad to rest. Although we haven't spoken or written in years it was very hard to take. He passed on Aug 15 suddenly of a heart attack at the age of only 62.

From this I have learned that anger doesn't hurt anyone but yourself. For years I wanted to sit down and jot a note and never did in fear it would be ignored. Dad joined Facebook back in May and Lynn and I were told that he found us there but couldn't bring himself to contact us.

I can only imagine that he felt the same way. That it would only get ignored.

If there is one thing I have learned from this it's to tear down those walls you may have built up against a loved one. Buck up take the situation head on and if anything at least TRY.

We don't live forever on this earth and regreat is the hardest thing to deal with.
I used to wonder how it would effect me if he were to pass and now I know first hand. And to go so young is a shame.

All of this reminds me of my favorite quote from my old Pastor back in Charleston.

"You will never have to forgive someone as much as God has forgiven you"

Remember that quote rather your a believer in Christ or not. Remember that Christ forgives us all no matter what we have done.
Below is a letter that I wrote the day he passed and ask that it be read at the service.

As most of you know we weren’t close. But that doesn’t change the fact that he was my Dad. I was always reminded of that.
Although we had a rough time he was thought of often both good and bad. As I sit here and think of his passing I think of all the things that he gave me. He helped give me life, he gave me a family and he helped in making me the person I am today. I look in the mirror and I see him. I’ve always looked so much like him I even have his toes. *giggle*
I believe I get my strong will and stubbornness from him and I have a strong desire for rich foods, that’s got to be from Dad because I remember grandma making the best meals.

The last time I heard from Dad was back in 1991 he knew I was a diehard Elvis fan growing up and he sent me collectable Elvis stamps, that I still have today. I remember this silly song he’d sing when we’d take a ride to KMART and Lynn and I would just laugh and laugh. I didn’t think I had many memories but I guess I do. It’s sad that today of all days it all comes flooding back.
The pain I’m feeling today just proves that I loved him more than I was ever willing to admit and I hope he knew that he was forgiven.
Funny, just 2 weeks ago I found him on facebook and didn’t do a thing with the info and heard today that he too had found Lynn and I on facebook and couldn’t bring himself to contact us. I wish he had, I wish I had.
Perfect example of the stubbornness.

My hope is that he knew the Lord Jesus as his personal savior and that he’s gone home to be with him so that we can see each other again one day. Rest in peace daddy knowing you were loved even though it was in a strange stubborn way.

I morn both the dad I always wanted you to be and the daughter I should have been. As long as we were both here there was always the possibility and now there isn’t. But rest knowing you will not be forgotten.

I love you,
Lisa

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."John 14:27

I'm a Slacker !

Yea yea yea I know it's been forever since I posted. Scott and I went home to SC the end of Dec till mid Jan. and had a good time. Doc hooked my up and i didn't once get sick or even have the thought of getting sick. We got to spend lots of time with both side of the family. Amelia (GRACIE) is getting so big. She sure loved her uncle Scott. As you can see he didn't mind one bit cattering to her.

It was quite cute watching the two of them. Scott also got to spend some time with Trey and teach him about his new Bow. Trey did very good remembering everything Scott was telling him.

We made a trip to Charleston to see our Very good friends Paula and Charlie. I wanted to get pictures of the new bridge but we decided to walk up the thing instead ! awesome walk. The winds were crazy at the top. We attended our old Church there too and it was great seeing everyone.

We always spend lots of money when we get off the islands lol but it's worth it in the end. Now we are home and settled again. We've gotten a pretty good amount of snow. But not enough to complain about. Winter here is mild compared to Kodiak and Petersburg, so far anyway.
We can't wait for SUMMER ! The room addition they were doing on the front of the house is complete except for the door know. It's a nice space to move some things out to and I"m going to make a little seating area since it gets lots of daylight.
Well that's about it nothing exciting. HUGZ TO ALL !

On this day OUR SAVIOR was born

Matthew 1: 19-21
19And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

Isaiah 53
1 Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? 2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. 3 He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.
7 He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. 8 Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. 9 He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave.
10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. 11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS !!!!!!!!
Thank you for giving us Salvation,Hope,Peace,Mercy & Grace
May you all have a blessed New Year. When you hear Him knock open the door of your heart for you are forgiven no matter what road you have been on. He knew you by name before your mother knew you. He paid for your sins before He brought you into this world. Trust in Him, Believe in Him, Accept Him as your Savior and you will have eternal Life.

Going Home!!!! Going Home !!!!!

YIPPY we are going home the end of December for 3 weeks! I can't wait. It will be much warmer there. It hasn't snowed ground level yet here and I'm going crazy. I'm ready for it. Scott's been doing some hunting. WOooooo Hoooo we now have enough red meat in the freezer for the winter ! To bad we have no Salmon but we have plenty of Halibut ! Not much has been going on. Oh Mr. Rowdy need knee surgery. I finally told the vet about it and what I thought and she confirmed it. He's at a stage 2 out of 4 so we have sometime to save up the cash for it.
It's much cheaper than I've been reading online in various forums.

Josh and Hollie are coming to Sitka from Petersburg to spend the week of Thanksgiving with us. They are so much like family to us and we are so excited they are coming. We are going to Stacy and Derricks house for dinner. There will be Lots of food and about 4 couples.

Have I posted that I have a job now ? Yep the Church we are attending ask if I'd like to be the Friday Secretary. So I'm working very part time on Friday's. I'm liking staying home.

Scott and I just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary on Nov 14th (been together 19).We had a VERY romantic dinner out. Very comical of you want to hear about it let me know lol. He got me the Amazon Kindle as a gift WOO HOOOO. If you don't know what it is just go to Amazon.com and look for KINDLE. I got him a book and a new pair of waders.

Well that's about it for this update. Leave us a comment !

HAPPY WINTER !

Yes I said winter there is no such thing as Fall in Alaska. Not much going on with the Mooneyham's. Scott FINALLY got us a deer so we have about 10 lbs. of red meat in the freezer.

He will go hunting again in 2 weeks while he's on leave. You just don't realize how much red meat and fish you eat until you don't have any. And I won't buy ground beef EWWWW.

I've gone and gotten myself a VERY part time job. I wasn't even looking for it, it came to me.

I'm working as the Friday Secretary at the Church we've been attending. I'll be crossed trained at some point to help the full time Secretary out when she needs time off.
It's kind of nice knowing I have to be someplace. It's been 7 months since I last worked and although I love being a housewife it does tend to get pretty boring.

2 of my friends here have had babies (well one any day now) and my bff here just found out she's pregnant. I'm excited for all of them and NOW my clock has kicked in and is ticking loudly!

I WANT A BABY .You'd be amazed at how many women 40+ are having babies these days.
The doggies are doing great. Emma was excited to see what little white stuff we had faling from the sky lol She's definately our snow baby. Rowdy would rather just look out the window at it.

Well if your wanting to get gifts for us this year we both have wish list set up. One for me on Amazon.com and Scott has one set up on Cabelas.com. I sure wish we had enough room here to have a big tree. We will survive though.

Josh and Holly (friends from Petersburg) will be coming to stay with us the week of Thanksgiving. I'm so excited ! I miss my coffee buddy. Well that's about it.

How about leaving us some LOVE and post a comment.

We love and miss everyone of you !

The rain ! Stop the rain !

Kid you not since January 1 Sitka has had 20 days of sun. The rest have been rain and overcast. Now this info is coming from one of the music directors at one of the local Churches. Even Scott has been complaining about the rain. And that is not normal.

Since we last posted I've started sewing. Small things but I'm sewing with a machine that actually works. There is a coastie family going through a tuff time. Their litte Hadley has been battling a brain Tumor for 4 years now and well it's almost time for her to meet Jesus.
Some Coastie wives are doing quilt squares to have a quilt made for Mom and Dad and one for each of Miss Hadley's brothers. It was my most challenging task at sewing so far but I'm very proud of it.

If you'd like to meet Miss Hadley you can read about her here.

http://www.caringbridge.org/ca/hadleyfox/

Here is the Quilt Square.

Since the picture was taken I have written a Scripture Passage at the bottom Psalm 18:2.

Now I will start on Christmas projects! Prayers that what Scott and I are working on turns out.
Stall haven't decided on a Church but have been to one more than others. They even spoke to me about possibly doing secretarial work one or two days a week there. But haven't said definite.
I guess it will be a good thing. I can at least get out of the house for a few hours.
I'm also looking at MAYBE going to work for the local vet as a receptionist/Vet Assistant.Nothing written in stone yet but I'm happy either way.

Scott is heading out with a buddy in the morning for a day of Hunting. We have no red meat to get us through the winter and you know I"m not buying it lol.

Love to all !
